i went to a erie trib sat, found low clear water and as the day got longer the water was coming up and viz was getting worse. I managed two hook-ups with only one landed, the fish were spread out and few in numbers, they were caught on a white hairball and the other was on white lighting

I hit an Erie trib on Sunday. As I drove down rte 5, many of the creeks were partially ice covered. A Chautauqua County creek was looking good, with just a touch of stain.

I wanted to try out A bunch of new equipment. I liked the Cabela's wading boots with the studded lug sole bottoms. Ditto for the breathable Albright waders. I had also picked up a 10 ft Albright Fly rod. I'll have to fish it a few more times before I pass judgement on it, as there were a few things I really liked, and some I didn't. The wind was picking up pretty good, and then the rain started coming down heavier. It wasn't ideal conditions to play with a new stick, to say the least.

On this creek, there was a fair amount of fish around for mid winter. Enough to keep me interested. I went 2 for 3 before the rain and melt had it's way with the creek.

Thanks to all who posted up with opinions on equipment.
